Mr. Matt Ellis, English

Mr. Ellis teaches English 9 Honors, Community Service (SCA), and PEER at Independence. He's a proud charter member of the Indy faculty and strives to help the Indy Student Council Association use creative, innovative leadership to foster a spirited, inclusive Indy community. 

Mr. Ellis graduated from the University of Virginia and the College of William & Mary. He's been teaching for 21 years. In those 21 years in education, he's taught at all high school grades and levels, as well as serving as a Program Coordinator for International Baccalaureate and a Teaching Excellence and Achievement fellow for the US Department of State.
