Welcome to Waxpool Elementary School! I am privileged to serve as the first principal of our school and I look forward to working with your children. I am currently in my twenty-third year as an educator, with nineteen of them as an administrator. Prior to becoming an administrator, I have taught in grades three and five in Loudoun County. I am also the parent of 2 children who attend high school in LCPS, and one alumni.
Opening a new school is a challenging and exciting time for students, parents, and staff. We have the unique opportunity to build a quality school from day one. One of my primary goals is building relationships with all those involved with Waxpool Elementary. I want to ensure that the transition to our new school goes smoothly. I can only imagine that students take great pride in being the “first” group to put their mark on the school.
Although our school will not open until July/August, I believe establishing the lines of communication and coming together as a Waxpool learning community will be critical to ensuring a positive start to the 2019-2020 school year. I am scheduled to meet the students at their current locations beginning next week. The Waxpool website and Twitter account have gone live and will be avenues to ensure communication with all families.
I would like to invite you to attend one of the parent transition meetings that have been scheduled at Eagle Ridge Middle School on February 5, 11, and 12. The meetings will begin at 6:45 p.m. each evening in the auditorium. On March 5th at 7:00 p.m., all parents are invited to the Administration Building (Room 100) to begin forming our PTA/PTO.
I have a passion for being an elementary school principal and understand how critical the early years in school are for children. I look forward to partnering with you and making Waxpool Elementary everyone’s home away from home. My enthusiasm to begin our journey together is at the highest level.
With Waxpool Warmth,
