• MSAAC Student Award


    The MSAAC Student Award shall be awarded to celebrate and recognize an LCPS student who through critical thinking, creating, collaborating, communicating and/or contributing demonstrates/does any of the following:


    • selflessly serves the local community;


    • promotes inclusiveness, diversity and respect in the LCPS community; 


    • displays encouragement and understanding between persons of different races, gender, age groups, ethnicity, religious heritage, national origin, socio-economic status, disability or sexual orientation;


    • demonstrates passion, spirit and a committed desire to make LCPS a better place;


    • has made significant contributions to various co-curricular or community activities (not limited to the holding of formal offices);


    • advocates for positive change at LCPS and/or in the community;


    • engages with underserved populations (e.g., Special Olympics, religious minorities, the LGBTQ community, the aged);


    • assists people in need (e.g., clothing/food drives, care packages for the homeless, tutoring/mentoring); 


    • raises awareness of or promotes meaningful dialogue on identified school and community issues affecting minorities;


    • engagement in any other activity that displays a commitment to a welcoming, inclusive, and/or diverse environment

    The MSAAC Executive Board will choose three finalists for the award, after which the Gala Committee will select the recipient.
