Kevin D. TysonPrincipalBackground & Bio:Mr. Tyson received his Bachelor of Science in Human Performance, with a minor in Secondary Education, from Howard University, and his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision from Regent University.
Mr. Tyson has served as a teacher assistant, teacher, dean, and assistant principal in Loudoun County. He also served as a high school assistant principal and career/technical education director for Midfield City Schools in Midfield, Alabama.
Mr. Tyson firmly believes in Ghandi’s quote, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” With this idea in mind, he has founded two student organizations. The first of these is “Dedicated Men with a Vision (DMV).” DMV has taken part in several community service projects, through which members received monthly principles on manhood and becoming a gentleman. The second organization is “Determined Strong Women (DSW).” The club’s motto is “Developing Dynamic Leaders Through Discipline and Dedication.”
Mr. Tyson also believes in helping the community. He is a former Advisory Board member for The William Kellibrew Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support for victims of violent crime and working to break the cycle of violence and poverty across the globe.
Mr. Tyson spent the early years of his life in his hometown of Enterprise, Alabama, where he learned the work ethic and passion needed to be successful in life. He credits his success to his mother who has been an educator for nearly 40 years. He’s honored and blessed to have such a wonderful role model in his life. Mr. Tyson is married and has three siblings, including a twin sister. During his spare time, Mr. Tyson enjoys working out and watching football and cartoons.
