    Kelly Patrick

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! My name is Kelly Patrick, and I am so excited to be joining the 5th Grade Team here at Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School for the 2018-2019 school year. I have been a special education teacher for the past 25 years, all at the elementary school level. I graduated in 1993 from James Madison University with degrees in both Special Education and Psychology. I also hold a Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from Shenandoah University. I began my teaching career with Fairfax County Public Schools, and then moved westward to work for Loudoun County Public Schools. I taught for one year down south in Florida, but a year of living through countless hurricanes, tropical storms, and flooding convinced me to head back north to Virginia, and back with the Loudoun County Public School system. I am a native Northern Virginian, and have lived here in Ashburn for the past 22 years. I have a passion for long distance running, and a weakness for animals with special needs (I currently have 2 kitties, one with cerebral palsy and one without eyes). I value communication and collaboration among my fellow teachers and staff members, with parents, and with the surrounding community, and am looking forward to a year that is sure to be full of new friendships and meaningful learning experiences that will last a lifetime. Please feel free to contact me at kelly.patrick@lcps.org or at (703) 957-4490.
