Second Step Bullying Prevention Lessons – Clinton Elementary     Bullying Prevention Unit Implementation | Second StepBullying Prevention Unit | Second Step

Loudoun County Public Schools will be implementing a bully prevention curriculum from Second Step this year. School Counselors will be teaching 5 lessons to each grade level during the months of October and November. Students will be taught how to RECOGNIZE bullying as hurtful behavior that keeps happening, making them feel unsafe, and feeling an imbalance of power. They will also be taught how to REPORT bullying if they are unsuccessful handling it themselves by talking to their identified trusted staff member. We will also be teaching them how to REFUSE by not joining in and walking away to report it. Lastly, we will teach them the power of BYSTANDERS to work together to stop bullying.

Staff will be trained on this program by the School Counselors and family newsletters will sent home via a link in the principal's newsletter under the Counselor's Corner. If you need further assistance or have questions, please contact Casey Smith, casey.smith@lcps.org
