Hello Ball’s Bluff Elementary School families,
This is my 23rd year as an elementary school counselor for Loudoun County. I am a product of LCPS starting at Emerick Elementary, continuing to Blue Ridge Middle, and graduating from Loudoun Valley High School. After completing my Bachelor’s from Hollins University and Master’s degree from Marymount University, I began my career in 1999 at Rolling Ridge Elementary School in Sterling, Virginia. Since then, I have had a wonderful experience being at many different schools and learning a great deal from the people and families I have worked with.
I have 2 children, my daughter Dylan is beginning her first year at JMU this fall, and my son Miles is entering his last year of middle school! I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling (especially to the beach) and gardening.
My job is to foster resiliency, provide tools for personal/social skills, help build relationships and confidence, advocate for students, and teach empathy with character education. I will be doing this through bi-weekly guidance lessons in your child’s class, optional group counseling sessions, and individual counseling. I am very communicative and will add an update to the principal's newsletter monthly, as well as, call home when necessary or with any concerns. Please feel free to call, email, or set up a meeting with me should you have any questions or concerns to discuss. I will be supporting all students this year, but will be leading counseling lessons in each classroom every other week in grades 2 through 5. Mrs. Wiernik will be leading counseling lessons in Kindergarten to 1st grade.
I look forward to a wonderful year,
