HI! I am thrilled to be a part of the Lovettsville Elementary community! A new adventure awaits, as I move to teaching first grade for the 2019-2020 school year. I am bubbling with excitement about all the new experiences to come!
Let me tell you about myself. I live in Kearneysville, WV with my dog, Hokie. I have one brother. I enjoy crafting with my Mom, volunteering at my church, reading, working in my yard, spending time with friends and family, and of course, playing ball with Hokie.
In addition to my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, I have an Associates Degree in Business, as well as a Masters in Elementary Education and a Masters in Administration and Leadership. Needless to say, I am a lifelong learner and hope that I impress upon the students to keep striving for their goals.
My goal this year is to use flexible seating as a way to give students a lot of voice and choice each day. I have designed the room in an effort to create such a warm environment for them, that they are extremely willing to take chances with their own learning by pushing themselves to learn new things. I like to incorporate STEM activities, critical thinking skills, and problem solving. It is important to me that the kids take responsibility for their learning, knowing that I am on the side helping them to flourish.
I am looking forward to an incredible school year!
