Ms. Marilyn Ampadu
Hello, Trailside Pack!
I am thrilled to begin another whirlwind year! It's amazing to think that I am now in my Third Year here at Trailside, and I am already so excited for all the discussions, laughs, and memories we'll share this year! Although I am a Ghanian native, some of my first few years of education were in LCPS before I moved to my self-proclaimed hometown of Winchester, VA. I completed a Bachelors in Chemistry and a Masters in Education at William & Mary. While most of my practice is in science, I have a great appreciation for every subject and am always up for learning something new!
I belive education is a unique, lifelong process, and I am so honored to share a part of that journey with our Trailside families. While this year may look and feel very different, I am confident that each of us will rise to the occasion. We will find ways to make meaningful connections, not only with each other, but also with the physical and molecular wonders that make up our world. And, of course, we will laugh!
When I’m not pondering the periodic table, I can usually be found eating junk food and watching baby videos - I am Obsessed with babies, and food! I am an avid reader, watch way too much television, and enjoy relaxing with friends and family. I love travelling, mostly by plane, but trains, cars, bikes, and ships are also great! I like to volunteer, plan events, and meet people from other parts of the world.
I am so looking forward to all the creative ways we will find to collaborate, engage, question, and explore as we take on this new way of school! I look forward to meeting and learning with all of you!
