My name is Lara Rimmel and I LOVE being an art teacher! I have taught Art for 12 years now, teaching every grade K-12 accept 7th! I am very excited to be part of the Legacy family. I have heard amazing things about the staff and community.
I graduated from the Seton Hill University in Pennsylvania in 1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education. I completed my Master’s Degree in Technology in Education from Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA in 2002.
I began my teaching career at Sherando High School, Frederick County Public Schools in 1998. It was there that I meet my husband Rob. Two years later, both my husband and I began our careers in Loudoun County where I was hired to teach 6th grade art at Sterling Middle. I was at SMS for two years and then moved to open Harmony Intermediate, now Harmony Middle School, where I taught 8th grade art. I taught at Harmony for 4 years until we decided to start a family. I stayed at home to raise our two sons, Jake and Will for 9 years. I then went back to teaching elementary art at Stonewall Elementary in Frederick County. I knew then that elementary art was where I wanted to be. I am excited to start my journey again in Loudoun County Public Schools.
I look forward to an amazing year here at Legacy and am very thankful for this opportunity!
