Welcome to Miss Rogers’ first grade classroom! I am excited to begin another school year with a new group of eager gators. I love teaching at Goshen Post and providing authentic and engaging learning experiences to reach every child.
I graduated from James Madison University with my Masters of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education. I am proud to teach in the county where I grew up and learned myself. Throughout all of my teaching experiences, I have learned that first grade has my heart!
Just like I fell in love with first grade, I also fell in love with teaching through Project Based Learning. I am a proud member of the Goshen Post inaugural staff where I experienced learning at its best through PBL. I have a passion for teaching through authentic and meaningful learning experiences, which is what PBL is all about. PBL teaches the whole child by providing learning experiences where students can practice real-life skills.
I believe that in order to teach each child to my fullest ability, I need to understand who they are as a person. I understand the importance of getting to know my students so that I can understand each and every child’s unique learning needs while providing them with an open and welcoming learning environment. I cannot wait to start this adventure with a new group of resilient learners!
Please feel free to contact me at any time.
