Welcome to first grade! My name is Julia Bendorf. I absolutely love teaching first grade at Goshen Post Elementary School. I am very excited to welcome a new group of first graders to my classroom this year!

I graduated from Shenandoah University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education PreK-6. I am originally from Frederick, MD. I moved to Virginia to start my career with Loudoun County Public Schools. During my first year of teaching, I fell in love with first grade.

I believe that learning should be authentic, engaging, and fun! During the inaugural year, I witnessed Project Based Learning, PBL, do incredible things for each and every single one of my students. PBL allows students to engage in authentic learning experiences that teach the students more than just the standard. At Goshen Post, I am teaching lifelong learners. The students will learn skills that they will carry with them throughout their life.

I want to help all of my student go above and beyond when it comes to reaching their personal learning goals. I believe it is my job to teach to your student as an individual, so his/her own learning needs are met. I am so excited to spend the school year teaching your child and watching them grow!

Welcome to Miss Bendorf’s class! Go Gators!
