Testing Dates
The vision of Virtual Loudoun is to cultivate quality, flexible, self-paced, virtual learning.
For HPE 9—Please note that hands-on CPR skills training is a graduation requirement. Spring Term 2 and Summer Term 3 students will be notified of additional opportunities to complete this training when campuses reopen. Student grades will not be impacted by this postponement.
For HPE 10 with Driver Ed—VADETS student accounts will be open for a period of four months, which includes taking and passing the exam. There are no extensions. The only requirement which can be submitted after the course is closed is the PSTD completion form. The PSTD form is required for course completion but not part of the VADETS coursework. No DEC cards will be sent to students until all requirements have been met (VADETS Canvas coursework, final exam, and PSTD completion).

HPE 9 CPR/AED/Basic First Aid
CPR/AED/Basic First Aid Hands-on Training
Per new legislation, Health and PE 9 students are required to attend one hands-on practice of skills necessary for CPR, use of an AED, and Basic First Aid. Please note that students MUST complete all lessons and complete the test BEFORE attending the hands-on training session. Lessons and tests can be found in the course in the tab titled “Introduction to Fitness Logs and Required CPR/AED and First Aid," Module 0.

HPE 10 PSTD / VADETS
Virtual Loudoun PSTD* Information
For completion of HPE 10 with Driver Education, students must utilize the online VADETS PSTD presentation. Students can also navigate to the VADETS course login page to access the link from there. On the left-hand side of the page in the middle, there is a link for the course, "90 Minute Parent/Teen Component now available online". Click on the link and follow the instructions. There is a $14 fee for utilizing the online PTSD course presentation. DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO COMPLETE IT! YOU MUST COMPLETE THE PROGRAM WITHIN 48 HOURS OF REGISTRATION.
*All District 8 presentations must be held from 7:00 pm - 8:30pm. Doors close promptly at 7:05 pm!The parent/guardian and student must attend this 90 minute presentation together. The Code of Virginia regulates these presentations and no late arrivals are permitted.- 22.1-205. Driver education programs.
The Board of Education shall establish for the public school system a standardized program of driver education in the safe operation of motor vehicles. Such a program shall consist of classroom training and behind-the-wheel driver training.
(vii) in Planning District 8, for any student completing a driver education program beginning in the academic year 2010 - 2011, an additional minimum 90-minute parent/student driver education component is included as part of the in-classroom portion of the driver education curriculum, requiring the participation of the student's parent or guardian and emphasizing parental responsibilities.
VADETS Final Exam Testing*
If you are taking virtual HPE 10 w/ DE through Virtual Loudoun, the link to sign up for one of these testing sessions can be found in your HPE course in Schoology, in "Module A: Virginia Driver Education (VADETS)".*Note: Students must get 85% on the VADETS Final Exam AND all VADETS workbooks to earn a DEC-1 card and for completion of the course. -
Standards of Learning (SOL)
SOL Testing
- LCPS students who require the SOL test for their diploma or to meet federal accountability requirements will take an SOL test at their serving school.
- All private school students are not eligible to take an SOL test (if there is one) per the Virginia Department of Education.
The Summer 2022 Writing SOL test will be administered to students on Monday, July 11, and Tuesday, July 12. Attendance on both days is required for a complete test. Students who are seeking to graduate by June 2023 may access a second test on Wednesday, July 13 and Thursday, July 14. Students may also defer testing until early October and test at their home/assigned high school.
Students electing to test on July 11/12 and 13/14 should arrive at the Staff Training Center, at 9:30 AM and plan to test about 1-2 hours each day. Students must bring their LCPS-issued device and may bring a snack or water bottle. Transportation is not provided and remote testing is not available.

W!SE Financial Literacy
W!SE Financial Literacy Testing
This is the CTE industry credential exam offered to students who are completing VL Economics and Personal Finance (full 1 credit course) and VL Personal Finance SEM (0.5 credit) courses.
Testing opportunities are coordinated by the CTE Department Chair at the home school. CTE Department Chairs will communicate a tentative schedule with school counselors at the home school. Current VL students should expect to receive communication from the CTE Department Chair near the end of the term. If you have questions about CTE credential testing, please reach out to your school counselor.The Office of CTE will offer Virtual Loudoun Personal Finance and Economics and Personal Finance students the opportunity to complete the W!SE credential on July 27, 2021, or July 28, 2021. Students will be assigned a testing location, time, room # and date. Make-up testing will be on July 29, 2021 (make-up day), if space is available. They are also welcome to test in the Fall 2021 session at their home high school if this works better for the families. Once the proctors are in place, the Office of CTE will share the final schedule.
