Hello Liberty Eagles!
I am so excited to start my fourth year teaching at Liberty Elementary School! I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in December '17 with my Masters in Teaching and Bachelor's of Interdiscplinary Studies with a concentration in Elementary Education. I was a student-athlete and received a full scholarship to play volleyball. I was on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for many semesters while at VCU. Being a student-athlete taught me many life skills that I incorporate into my classroom. I believe that leadership, building a community, and working together all help students succeed. I am a huge believer in forming relationships with my students; learning how my students learn and having them reach their full potential is a goal of mine. I also am a huge encourager on students finding their passion and doing what they love. I have a twitter account so please follow all of the wonderful activities we do in our classroom! @Miss_LaMantia4. My twitter feed is also embedded below.
In my free time, I love traveling, being outdoors, playing volleyball, and spending time with my friends and family. In the summer of 2016, I took a month long trip to Italy where I taught elementary school students to speak English. I've been to many places across the United States and visited Amsterdam, Mexico, and Jamaica. This past summer, I visited Key West and had the privlege of seeing many beautiful sites! I am also the volleyball varsity assistant coach at Freedom High School. I currently live in Ashburn and grew up in South Riding.
I cannot wait to continue the rest of the year learning, growing, and establishing my classroom. Please do not hesitate if you have any questions!
