PL (PERSONALIZED LEARNING) INFORMATION

Smart's Mill is embarking on an exciting new initiative .  It is called, “Personalized Learning.”  Smart’s Mill is among a small group of LCPS schools that have been selected to implement PL for the 2017-2018 school year. Teachers will be introducing students to “personalized learning” as a way to improve the learning experience and academic results of all of our students.   As a result, your child will be using more technology in class and with their homework.  Please view the two documents below to learn more about PL.  There will be other information that will come out to parents as the year progresses.  We are very excited about PL.  We believe it will lead to greater ownership and responsibility on the part of the students, a more individualized approach to classroom teaching practices, and ultimately and improvement in our overall academic program.
