Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT)
All third grade students will have the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT2) administered in October 2019 during the regular SEARCH lesson. Parents will receive notification that testing will take place. After the test is administered, parents of third graders will receive individual scores from the NNAT, along with a brief description of the test. This information will be sent home in the middle of November. These are nationally normed tests; children are ranked among other children in their age group.
2019 Scheduled Testing Date
October 1st: 12:00-1:00 PM
PLEASE DO NOT SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS DURING YOUR CHILD'S SCHEDULED TIME AS STUDENTS CANNOT RETAKE THE TEST IF PULLED DURING THE TESTING TIME.
The NNAT is a group ability test that does not require English language skills and knowledge that is taught in school. This test allows students to demonstrate their ability to think and reason by figuring out problems that are presented through a complex series of geometric shapes and designs. The NNAT allows students to demonstrate advanced levels of reasoning without word knowledge, mathematics, or reading skills. The content of the NNAT is completely nonverbal, the instructions are brief, and the questions may be solved using only the information that is presented in each diagram.
