    The students will learn about time.  This includes investigating the passage of time.  Students will learn how to tell time to the hour and half-hour, using analog and digital clocks.

    The students will be learning about matter.  Students will investigate and understand how different materials interact with water.  This includes the following states of materials; solids, liquids, and gases.

    The students will continue learning about fractions.  This includes representing and naming fractions for halves and fourths.  Students will represent and solve problems involving equal sharing with two or four sharers.

    The students will be learning about Christopher Newport.  The students will learn his connection to Virginia and his contributions.

    The students will be learning about Maggie Walker and Arthur Ashe.  The students will learn their connection to Virginia and their contributions.

    The students will continue learning about plane figures.  Students will learn how to identify, trace, describe, and sort plane figures such as; circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles according to the number of sides, vertices, and angles.  Students will learn how to identify and describe representations of circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles in different environments, regardless of orientation.

    The students will be learning about Pocahontas and Powhatan.  The students will learn their connection to Virginia and their contributions.

    Weekly Sight Words include: take, gave, made, tell, and stop.

    The students will learn about plane figures.  Students will learn how to identify, trace, describe, and sort plane figures such as; circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles according to the number of sides, vertices, and angles.  Students will learn how to identify and describe representations of circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles in different environments, regardless of orientation.

    The students will be learning about trees.  The students will learn that plants have basic life needs, functional parts, and can be classified according to certain characteristics.  Seasonal changes bring changes in plants, trees, and their habitats.  Specific trees include; deciduous, dormant, and evergreen.

    Weekly Sight Words include: cold, call, find, ride, and that.

    The students will continue learning about whole number operations.  This includes creating and solving single-step story problems using addition and subtraction for numbers up to 10 and sums of 20 or less.

    The students will be learning about temperature, light, and precipitation.  The students will investigate and understand weather and seasonal changes.  Specific changes include; temperature (hot and cold), sources of light (artificial and natural) and precipitation (types of weather - sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy, and snowy).

    Weekly Sight Words include: five, fast, best, and both.

    The students will learn about whole number operations.  This includes creating and solving single-step story and picture problems using addition and subtraction for numbers up to 10 and sums of 20 or less.

    The students will be learning about spending and saving, and goods and services.  The students will learn the differences and have an understanding that people save money for the future to purchase goods and services.

    Weekly Sight Words include: make, here, have, play, and will.

    The students will continue learning about addition and subtraction.  This includes recognizing and describing part-whole relationships for numbers up to 10 and sums of 20 or less.

    The students will be learning about needs and wants.  The students will learn the differences and have an understanding that people make choices because they can't have everything they want.

    Weekly Sight Words include: came, come, help, and good.

    The students will continue learning about addition and subtraction.  This includes recognizing and describing part-whole relationships for numbers up to 10 and sums of 20 or less.

    The students will continue learning about hibernation and migration.  Some animals hibernate and some migrate as a result of seasonal changes.

    Weekly Sight Words include: buy, but, eat, like, and must.
