    Grading Policy for AP Human Geography

    All grades are weighted based on the following categories:                                                          

    Tests-65%

    Quiz-25%

    Projects-10%

    Make-up Policy-All quizzes and tests can be made up before school or during the student’s study hall.  Students  may schedule an appointment with Mrs. Gross either before a planned absence or upon returning to class.  Students are responsible to make-up work due to an absence

    Late/Missing Work- All students should turn work in by the designated deadline. If the student does not make the deadline than they need to conference with their teacher. A student may receive a zero, for assignments if there is a pattern of uncompleted work.

     Retakes- Students will be given an opportunity to reassess on a test where they received a score of 80% or lower. The student will be given the higher grade between the original assessment and the reassessment up to an 80%.   Before a reassessment can occur, students must complete some remediation with their teacher to help them prepare for the reassessment. Once a test grade has been posted in Phoenix, a student needs to make a request to the teacher for the reassessment and complete it.

    Students will be given a variety of assignments and assessments including tests, quizzes, projects, and essays.

    • Grade Weighting:

                     Tests -40%                             Short Answer Questions-20%

                     Essays- 30%                           Quizzes-10%
