LA VILLA ROMA - "ATHLETE OF THE MONTH" - APRIL 2011

The following people are being recognized for their positive efforts in Heritage Athletics.  These athletes will receive a gift certificate from LA RILLA ROMA of Leesburg for their hard work and dedication towards their sport.  Congratulations!  We would like to congratulate these young people on their accomplishments and wish them continued success in their seasons.  We would also like to thank LA VILLA ROMA of Leesburg for their continued support of this program.

Mitchell pitched 2 complete games during April for big district wins against defending Cedar Run District champion Osbourn and against Stonewall Jackson.  With these victories, Bowers helped put the Pride in 2nd place.  In addition to going 2-0 in District games during April, Bowers hit .250 and lead the team in hits with 11.  – Coach Price

    Softball – Ashley Crouch

Ashley strives to be the best at her game. Her hard work and determination provides the team with bright opportunities to win games. On the mound Ashley has grown mentally and shown that she can work through an entire game and keep the focus needed. As a hitter, Ashley has come through for her team multiple times and continues to be one of our consistent hitters. Through her hard work, Ashley Crouch is very deserving of this award. – Coach Everhart

    Boys’ Tennis – Chris Miller

Chris has been a great asset to the Boys Tennis Team this year.  He always gives 110% and is constantly trying to improve his game so he can be even better.  Chris always has a smile on his face and always tries his best.  Congratulations Chris and keep working hard! – Coach Kozikowski

     Boys’ Lacrosse – Chuck Carlin

Chuck exemplifies the term student-athlete. He is a leader on and off the field. He worked tirelessly in the offseason to prepare, and is leading the Pride as one of its captains. He leads the team in every important statistical category except for Saves (because he hasn’t played Goalie yet!) As of the 11th game Chuck has 38 Goals on 124 Shots, 15 Assists, 80 groundballs, and has won 60% of his faceoffs. – Coach “Choppy” Burke

    Girls’ Lacrosse – Laura Nibblelink

Laura Nibbelink is a fantastic player and young adult. She is always positive both on and off the field.  As a junior, she is one of four captains this year and has done a great job encouraging all players as well as helping less experienced ones during practices and games.  She currently leads our team with 39 goals this season. – Coach Malick

    Boys’ Soccer – Ruben Torres

Ruben is our leading goal scorer with 8 goals.  He has been an exemplary athlete for the program this season. – Coach Munson

    Girls’ Soccer – Natalie Perussault

Natalie has been a tremendous threat offensively.  Her speed and quickness has allowed her to score five goals and three assists being one of the team leader’s as a freshman. – Coach Ascunce

Boys’ Track & Field – Marcus Finney

    -         Coach DeVault

Girls’ Track & Field – Whitney Amo

Whitney has been working very hard all year and has a great attitude.  She has recently started long jumping and has a personal best of 17 feet.  That mark leads the district despite the fact that Whitney is new to jumping! – Coach Gilbert
