I am thrilled to be working with students in my 14th year at Hillside!  I grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota, and graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Political Science.  I worked in the retail and transportation industries, living in Minnesota, Nebraska, and Virginia.  While volunteering in my children's classrooms, I discovered my passion is helping students find their strengths and to use those strengths as keys to unlock the doors to reading, writing, and math. I pursued and received a Master's Degree in Special Education K-12 from George Mason University. 

   I live in Ashburn with my husband, Paul, and two children, Derek and Kelsie(both Hillside, Eagle Ridge, and Briar Woods Alums).  My little slice of paradise is on Lake Le Homme Dieu in Alexandria, Minnesota.  I passionately cheer for the Minnesota Twins and Vikings!  I enjoy reading, cooking, and hiking.  I believe learning is a life-long journey.  It is my goal to instill a love of learning in students.  I look forward to a wonderful year filled with growth and fun!
