Swinging Into Preschool

Welcome to the Am Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program at Sugarland. We are delighted to have your child in our classroom and look forward to an exciting, fun-filled, and productive year.

Our class at Sugarland holds the philosophy that Play is Children’s Work.The room is arranged in distinct developmentally appropriate learning centers including: Housekeeping, Blocks, Sand, Water, Art, Manipulatives, Books, Movement and Computer. Our daily schedule provides for both student-initiated and teacher-directed learning experiences in individual, as well as small and large group settings.

I will be in contact with you through your child’s home-school notebook. This allows us to share something about your child’s day at school and provides a convenient way for you to send messages to all the members of the ECSE staff. We constantly strive to maintain open lines of communication with all our parents and view our relationship as a team effort with your child’s best interests in mind always. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your child.  I am available every day by phone after 1:00 or by email. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
