Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jeanette Johnson
I am excited to begin my fifth year at Trailside Middle School, and my second year as a 7th grade English teacher. I am a Northern Virginia native. I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Communications with a minor in marketing. Having worked in the private sector for several years and in process of raising three children, I discovered my true passion of working with children within the school environment. This desire to become a teacher lead me to Shenandoah University, where I obtained my teaching degree in English.
I believe learning is an active engagement between students, teachers, parents, and the community. Our classroom will apply this model of active learning. Students will see the connections from what we learn in class and then apply them to real life situations.
"Tell me and I forget.
Teach me and I remember.
Involve me and I learn."
A few of my favorite things to do when I'm not in the classroom are hiking, swimming, antiquing, reading, and hanging out at the beach with my family and friends.
Calendar items and assignments will be posted to Google Classroom.
