    Dear Parents or Guardians,

As one of the teachers, I would like to welcome you to the Lovettsville Elementary Fourth Grade.  I have been teaching at Lovettsville for 29 wonderful years.   One thing I have learned through the years is that Lovettsville truly is a school that begins with Love.

The fourth grade here is a special one.  We do many exciting activities and have fun while we learn.  Many of the lessons are cooperative learning activities.  This allows the students to interact with their peers as well as reinforce the day’s lessons.  The learning process is ongoing.  It never stops.  This philosophy is what makes learning fun.  The students learn while playing games at recess, as well as their lessons in all subject areas.

One of the most important aspects of a child’s education is the reinforcement he/she gets at home.  The daily lessons are sometimes reinforced with homework.  This homework is meant to give your child practice at the concepts taught that day.  Being kids, they sometimes forget the procedure or concept they need to practice.  If your child asks you for help, please do your best to help him/her.  If you can’t help, I will review and help your child individually the next day.  Just Email me or write me a note to let me know your son/daughter is having difficulty.

I do my best to make the classroom a fun and safe place.  Your child should feel comfortable and eager to learn.  If there is ever a problem that occurs during school, please feel free to contact me.  I will do everything to make your child as comfortable and eager to learn as possible.

I look forward to working with you and your child.  I have a fun and exciting year planned.  If you have any questions or comments, please contact me.

    Sincerely,

    Michael E. Condon
