Roadrunners, welcome to Room 1!
My name is Luanna Hansberger. 2018-2019 will be my fourth year here and I am very excited to be a part of the Rolling Ridge family!
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Texas A & M University and a Master’s in Special Education from George Mason University.
I was born in Tucson, Arizona and lived in Massachusetts for all my public school years. Although I’ve lived in Virginia for almost thirty years, I still consider myself to be a bit of a desert rat, and my sports loyalties lie with the Red Sox and Patriots. I have lived in Loudoun County for fifteen years, and in Sterling Park for thirteen years. My husband teaches high school in Loudoun, and all four of our children graduated from Park View High School.
As a self-contained classroom, Room 1 is a unique learning experience for all of us. Students are actively engaged in learning, whether it is “conventional” reading and worksheets or following a map around the school, learning our directions and numbers as we find different rooms. Students are active participants in the learning process and receive as much or as little support as they need, striving for maximum independence and self-sufficiency.
I am excited to see what this new year will bring as students new and old gather to learn together this year!
