We believe that this approach helps ensure that the shopper's appetite and spirit are ministered to and we like to see people feel better when they leave than when they arrived! Food Assistance | SNAP Food StampsLoudoun County Department of Social Services participates in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps. SNAP benefits are electronic benefits that can be used like cash to buy food at any store that has a sign displaying the Quest logo or a picture of the Virginia Electronic Transfer Benefit card.
Residents in need of food assistance should contact the Loudoun County Department of Family Services (DFS). Eligibility workers determine each client's eligibility for various public assistance programs including SNAP. The SNAP program requires a face-to-face interview.

Residents of any age, income, or background who need financial assistance may contact the Salvation Army of Loudoun County for help and advice. The non-profit distributes assistance for a number of basic needs. While food and meals are offered, programs also offer help for paying utility bills, rent, prescriptions, food, clothing, and furniture. A caseworker will sit down and meet the individual who needs help. They will then determine a client's eligibility for food or financial assistance based on need. The Salvation Army thrift stores provide free or low cost household items, furniture, and clothing at a low-cost rate.
