• LCPS Daycare Transportation Information

The Department of Transportation currently may transport students to daycare facilities that are in the elementary school attendance zone.  We additionally may transport Special Needs students to daycare facilities within the assigned or home high school cluster attendance zone.  You may use LABEL on the Planning webpage to determine what attendance zone the daycare is located in.  Please confirm where the daycare is located before requesting services.

Several conditions must be met in order for Transportation to consider transporting to a daycare facility.  These conditions are:

    • Daycare owner/operator or school administrator must request transportation services in writing and provide the number of students utilizing the facility from the elementary school.
    • Location of the daycare must allow for an appropriate bus stop and stop will be predetermined before service may begin.
    • Daycare staff must agree to meet the bus to receive the students at the designated drop off time.
    • Daycare staff must have students at the bus stop 5 minutes prior to the stop time.

Transportation staff will conduct a site survey, determine if these conditions are met and will confirm with the school and the daycare facility that services will or will not be provided.

Please inform parents that will be utilizing daycare facilities of these parameters.  If you have any questions or concerns then please contact the Lead Driver or Area Supervisor for your school.
