Parent Responsibilities

 

  • It is the parent/guardian responsibility to get the student to and from the bus stop.

  • Provide accurate and timely information to your child’s school. The student medical information and emergency contact form are provided to the bus drivers in the case of an emergency situation.

  • Inform the school administrator, bus driver or attend of any medical condition or behavior which might affect the student’s safety or health on the bus.

  • Assure that, when applicable, an authorized person will be at the bus stop on time when your child is dropped off.

  • Make sure child has appropriate clothing for the bus trip and is ready at the bus stop five minutes before pickup time.  The bus driver is not required to wait and cannot blow the horn for a tardy student.

  • If your child misses the bus, the driver cannot make another run.  In this case the parent must transport the child to school.  Bell schedules have been provided for your convenience.

  • Teach your child bus safety rules and appropriate bus – riding behavior.

  • Maintain and return all equipment issued by LCPS for transporting your child.
