    Welcome to Mrs. Veney’s Class!

    Dear Parent/Guardian and Marketing Students:

    My name is Michelle Veney, I am excited to start my 12th year teaching marketing!  I am passionate about education, marketing, and to learn by experience and project-based learning.  My teaching philosophy is to link my students’ passions with the world of marketing and to prepare them for their future endeavors.  I love my job, and I know this is what I was meant to be.  I am pleased your child has selected to enroll in a marketing course at Broad Run High School.  I look forward to a successful year working with you and your child.  Together, we can achieve a positive learning experience!  The benefits from marketing courses will last throughout your child’s lifetime.

    Marketing Education builds its quality program in Career and Technical Education on three major cornerstones: 

    1. Classroom Instruction: This is the essential component for students to master the academic and technical competencies, attitudes, and work ethics essential for career success and lifelong learning.
    2. Co-Curricular Student Organization (DECA):  Experiences through DECA reinforces and strengthens classroom learning and prepares students for individual responsibility, teamwork, community service, competition, and leadership.
    3. Cooperative Education Experience (Co-op): Through this opportunity, students apply and refine knowledge, attitudes, and skills through professionally coordinated and supervised work experience directly related to career goals.  Cooperative Education is worth 1 additional credit to the Marketing Co-op or Advanced Marketing Co-op courses.

    I am so happy to be a part of the Broad Run Family, and I can’t wait to work with you and your child this year!  This upcoming year is going to be awesome,  I encourage all of you to stop by the Spart Mart, the official school store that is managed and operated by Advanced Marketing Students and DECA Members!  Our students have put together a fantastic store with a lot of new products and merchandise that we think you all will love!!!  Please email or call me if you have any questions concerning any of the course documents.
