    Mission Statement
     
    Our mission is to create a safe, caring, and nurturing learning environment for all students. We strive to teach and model respect and acceptance of one another to help our students embrace diversity, individuality, and resiliency. We are dedicated to helping all students thrive in academic excellence and establish lifelong career development skills.

     

    Vision Statement 

    Our vision is to utilize a holistic School Counseling approach that provides an opportunity for students to set goals as they grow and thrive in the academic, personal/social, and career development domains. We recognize the importance of celebrating each child’s unique qualities and self-success, while supporting their goals to become outstanding citizens, independent thinkers, and life-long learners. Our vision is for students to embrace and thrive in a culturally diverse learning environment that helps children develop into caring, considerate, and appreciative individuals.
     
       
    Belief Statement 
     
    Our school counselors believe and are committed to helping all students:
    • become self-directive and responsible for their behavior in relation to academic achievement
    • reach full potential for achievement using a counseling program with ethical standards that make decisions based on data collected of students' needs
    • develop positive feelings toward their school environment
    • understand the relationship between personal qualities, education, and the world of work, while guiding them through any other developmental needs
    • understand the character traits consistent with Loudoun County Public School's character education program, which will be planned, delivered, managed, and evaluated by the School Counseling Department
    • develop effective problem-solving, decision-making, and coping skills
    • understand and respect themselves and others
    • maintain effective relationships with peers and adults, while advocating for every student
    • develop effective communication skills
    • career development and plans for further education
