Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Beth Marks
Teaching everything from preschool to 6th grade, I have been a public school educator since 1990. Gifted Education is a passion, and this is my 15th year as a Gifted Resource teacher. I earned my BS in Early Elementary from George Mason University, an endoresment in Gifted Education from University of Virginia, and my MS in Instructional Technology from George Mason University. I am a Lifelong Learner, continuing my education with programs such as the Northern Virginia Writing Project and Inquiry Based Learning, on which I base my teaching pedagogy. Expect a lot of inquiry and writing in my program!
Outside of school I enjoy walking my dogs (Addie and Oliver) with my wonderful husband, Greg; yoga; and, I am beginning my personal goal of becoming a doula! I also enjoy reading and painting. I am a proud mom/step-mother of four grown children. They are 22,23, 24, and 25! I'm extremely proud of all of them, and will drop everything to spend time with them if they come around.
I am grateful for the warmth and camaraderie felt here at Creightons Corner, and am especially excited to be part of the Fourth and Fifth Grade teams this year! Go Colts!
