Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!! My name is Wenda Brown and this is my fifth year teaching at Meadowland Elementary!! I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a Masters in Reading, both from Frostburg State University. Also, I am a National Board Certified Teacher, and I earned this honor in 2011.
This is my 22nd year teaching public school, and I cannot think of any other career that would make me happy. I began my career teaching 4th grade in Maryland, and then moved up to teach middle school as a Language Arts Teacher and a Reading Specialist in North Carolina. I am so excited to be back in elementary school where I know I am making a significant impact on students every day!
During this school year I will be split between two elementary schools. I will only be working at Meadowland in the afternoon. I will serve as an English Language teacher working with the Second Grade team. I am so thankful that I moved to Loudoun County...it is beautiful and has a superb school system!!
I have one daughter, Brittany Johnson, and she will graduate with her Masters in Professional Counseling in 2020. I love to read, travel, try out new restaurants, keep fit, and spend time with my family in Hagerstown, MD.
I am looking forward to another great year of CODING again this year with my students...technology is our future!!!
