Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!! My name is Wenda Brown and this is my sixth year teaching at Meadowland Elementary!! I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and a Masters in Reading, both from Frostburg State University. In addition, I am a National Board Certified Teacher, and I earned this honor in 2011.
This is my 23rd year teaching public school, and I cannot think of any other career that would make me happy. I began my career teaching 4th grade in Maryland, and then moved up to teach middle school as a Language Arts Teacher and a Reading Specialist in North Carolina. I am so excited to be back in elementary school where I know I am making a significant impact with students every day!
Meadowland has become my "home" and I love working with the English Learner students and getting to know the families in our community. This year will look quite different and bring many challenges, but please know that I am prepared to teach your child whether it is through the Distance Learning format or when they return to school for "Hybrid" learning.
I look forward to an amazing school year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I am always available to help in any way that I can.
All my best,
Ms. Wenda S. Brown, M.Ed., NBCT
