    Breakfast At The Park

“Kids start smart with a Healthy Breakfast at School!”

“In today’s hectic world, it isn’t always easy to get your children off to school with a healthy breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – especially for kids.”

    WHAT’S SO GREAT ABOUT BREAKFAST?

Studies have proven that students who eat breakfast benefit nutritionally and educationally. Eating school breakfast results in increased math and readings scores, and more energy to get through a busy morning. There were fewer visits to the nurse. Teachers reported improved classroom behavior, and improved attentiveness. The majority of students who start their day with breakfast say they feel good, are happy, and more alert throughout their school day. The majority of students who do not eat breakfast say they feel bad, are angry, sick and bored throughout the school day.

WHY NOT GIVE THEM BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL?

The School Breakfast Program offers a tasty and nutritious supervised meal every school day in case your child does not have time to get breakfast at home. This is beneficial for your child because breakfast at school helps you to help your kids get all the food they need to grow and learn.

WHAT KIND OF FOOD IS SERVED AT SCHOOL BREAKFAST?

All School Breakfasts are designed to meet the USDA nutritional guidelines. That means children get the food they need to start their day ready to learn. A typical school breakfast will include: juice and milk plus other items like cereal, bagel with cream cheese, fruit, eggs, cheese, meats, poptarts, and even cinnamon rolls.

    WHAT DOES SCHOOL BREAKFAST COST?

School Breakfast works like School Lunch. If your child receives free lunch, pays a reduced or full price for lunch, the same is true for breakfast. All children are eligible to take part in School Breakfast.

Breakfast will be served from 8:00 AM – 8:25 AM.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact the cafeteria manager, Jennifer Masters, at Harper Park Middle School at
