Greetings! I am thrilled to begin the 2019-2020 school year at Riverside High School. I received my B.A. in English from the College of William and Mary in 2006, and I completed my Masters in Secondary Education at William and Mary the following year. In 2014, I received a Masters in Literature from George Mason University, where I hope to begin a doctoral program soon. This will be my 12th year of teaching; prior to coming to Riverside, I taught various levels of English 10, 11, 12, and AP Literature and Composition and Dual Enrollment English at Osbourn High School in Manassas, Virginia. In addition to teaching 9th and 12th grade at Riverside, I taught English 111 at the Manassas campus for Northern Virginia Community College. This will be my 12th year as a resident of Ashburn, where I live with my husband, our three young children, and our puppy and cat.
This year I am teaching four sections of Dual Enrollment, and I am directing the Riverside Writing Center. I'm also incredibly excited to sponsor Robotics and co-sponsor the National Honor Society. Throughout first semester, I will be available Tuesdsay and Thursday before and after school and by appointment. If you need help with college essays and personal statements, feel free to stop by 1605 and set up a time to work with me. I'm looking forward to another fantastic year as a Riverside Ram!
