• Karishma Tovey

Welcome!  My name is Mrs. Tovey and I am the fifth grade EL teacher this school year.  This is my eighth year teaching at Countryside, but my first working with the fifth grade team. I am excited for this new adventure and look forward to working with the fifth grade students (many of whom I taught when they were in second grade). Prior to coming to Countryside, I worked at Rolling Ridge, Discovery, and Creighton's Corner in grades K-4. I love being a teacher, but I also love learning! Before and during my teaching career, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in English with a minor in Mathematics from Radford University, a Master of Education with a concentration in English as a Second Language and an endorsement in Middle School Mathematics from Marymount University, and a Master of Science in Information Technology also from Marymount University.
As your student's teacher, my goal is to help advance your student's academic career while making them feel safe and a part of a community.
When I'm not teaching, I love traveling with my husband and son, watching the Washington Capitals, baking, dabbling in photography and spending time with family and friends.
I am excited for this school year and I look forward to working with your student. If you have any questions, please feel free to Email me here.
