What is the LCPS App?
Powered by Blackboard Connect’s Parent Link, the LCPS app is an aggregator that pulls together in one place the most frequently used content from the LCPS website and social media platforms. The app translates content into 65 languages and enables the district to issue push notifications to the mobile device in the event of school closures or other emergencies. LCPS district content is always available to users on the app, but the app also allows for customization so that the user can follow the school or schools of his or her choice.
For example, if a parent has students in an elementary, middle and high school, the parent can choose to follow all three schools in order to have all of that information channeled to one convenient place.Who is the audience for the LCPS app?
We encourage parents, staff, secondary students and other community members interested in LCPS to download and use the app.How do I download the LCPS app, and what does it cost?
The app is available to download FREE of charge from both the apple and google stores. Just go to the app store and search “Loudoun County Public Schools.”
Once you have downloaded the app to your phone, you will see an LCPS widget.
You can touch the widget to open the app and customize your view. The app will show you a list of schools from which to choose, or you can visit the settings widget to change the preferences at any time. Just select the school that you wish to follow. (Schools are listed in alphabetical order by grade level - High, Middle, and Elementary.)When you do, you will see a list of feeds available from that school. Check the box next to the feed or feeds you wish to followOnce you have customized your app settings, you are ready to begin accessing all of the useful tools—ParentVue, My School Bucks, calendars, lunch menus, sports schedules and more!You can visit the settings widget to change the preferences at any time.
