Mr. Haywood
Mr. Haywood is thrilled to continue another year at Madison’s Trust Elementary. This is his eighth year at Madison's Trust, and he loves being a Mighty Macaw! He is originally from Virginia; however, he has had the opportunity to live in several states, such as Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee. Moving around so much in his childhood taught him that working with others may be one of the fascinating things to do in life.
He graduated from Ferrum College with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and obtained a Master's in Educational Leadership at George Mason University. Mr. Haywood was also a 2022 Teacher of the Year nominee.
In his free time, he loves playing golf, tennis, and racquetball. He competes in racquetball tournaments year-round and was the captain of Ferrum College’s Racquetball Team during undergrad. He loves reading children’s literature, kayaking, and playing board games.
He looks forward to making this a positive learning experience for this year’s flock of 3rd-grade Macaws.
