Students work with their classmates to earn rewards for behaviors that support learning. The rewards are given to reinforce the behaviors that support a positive and productive work environment. Each class has identified nine rewards that would motivate them to work cooperatively during the school year. Our goal is to reward desired behaviors often at first and slowly reduce the recognition of the behavior, because our end goal is for students to make good choices because it is the right thing to do. Moving our students to be more intrinsically motivated is a life-long skill. Intrinsic motivation refers to behavior that is driven by internal rewards. In other words, the motivation to engage in a behavior arises from within the individual because it is naturally satisfying to you.




    Specific postive praise is used to motivate and reward desired behaviors.
