Loudoun County Public Schools is proud to announce that site improvements construction has started on the Academies of Loudoun project off of Sycolin Road.
The mission of the Academies is to provide a 21st Century Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education that creates opportunities for LCPS students and faculty to innovate, explore, research and collaborate. Conceptualized over a decade ago, the Academies of Loudoun project will be completed by the start of the 2018-19 academic year. Site improvements began in February 2016, and the building is expected to be started in July of 2016.
The project will involve the construction of a new 3-story 300,000 SF facility, on a 119 acre parcel owned by LCPS. This will bring together three distinct, but inter-related academies: the Career and Technical Education program at Monroe Advanced Technical Academy in Leesburg, the Academy of Science program in Dominion HS, and the newly formed Academy of Engineering and Technology program at Tuscarora HS.
Due to heavy equipment operations and construction vehicles, all drivers should be aware of new traffic patterns and alternate routes near the property. As this is an active construction site, access is controlled and requires permission from the LCPS Division of Construction Services.
If you have questions regarding the project or after-hours work at this site, please contact the Office of Construction Services at (571) 252-1161.
