What is the WMAA?
Welcome to the Woodgrove High School Fine Arts Program! The Woodgrove Music and Arts Association (WMAA) is an organization of parents within the Fine Arts program that provides support and assistance to our Fine Arts educators and our students. All parents and/or guardians of music, art, and drama students are automatic members of the WMAA. We look forward to meeting and working with you all!
- The WMAA usually meets on the second Thursday of every month at 7:00pm. All WMAA members are encouraged to attend. It is a great way to keep up with all that is going on in the fine arts programs. - The WMAA is committed to supporting all students during their fine arts careers at WHS. You will be receiving additional information regarding uniforms, competitions, concert dates, spring trips, etc. Please visit the WMAA link found on the WHS website regularly for more information:
Student Accounts and Charms
The WMAA maintains a student account for every fine arts student. A portion of all funds earned by each individual student for every fundraiser will be added to their student account to be used toward the various activities planned, including activity fees, uniforms fees, festival fees, and the very popular Spring Trips.
The WMAA uses Charms Office Assistant to track student accounts and accept credit card payments. Log in information does not change from year to year, so upperclassmen can access their Charms accounts at this time. Contact Paula Hicks to obtain log in information for your student. Charms account information can be accessed at www.CharmsOffice.com or by downloading the Charms app onto your smartphone or tablet.
Please take a moment to update all of your information in Charms. While we can get all the student names entered and assign Charms ID numbers on our own, we need contact email addresses to be able to take advantage of the communication features of Charms. We will not share your contact information.
Charms Office Assistant is an excellent tool for managing all of your activities with the Fine Arts programs. Charms can be used to send emails, manage forms for various activities, make payments of fees (activity fees, concert attire, spring trip payments, etc.). Become familiar with your Charms account for a stress free school year!
The Fine Arts Department is busy planning the 2017 - 2018 Spring Trips. We have Chorus, Band & Orchestra, and Art & Theater all planning out trips to NYC this coming Spring. These trips are not mandatory, but each trip is jammed packed with too much fun to miss. Information about each trip including costs, dates, and itinerary will be provided by the directors of each department. Don't forget - all funds added to a student’s Charms account can be used toward the Spring Trips. Keep checking the WMAA website for the most up-to-date information.
2017 - 2018 FUNDRAISING INFORMATION
Patron of the Arts
The Patron of the Arts is a community wide fundraising campaign for the WMAA and our Woodgrove High School Fine Arts Departments. All donations from this effort are used to enhance and enrich what is provided to our students by the Loudoun County Public Schools. Please consider donating to the WMAA through the Patron of the Arts campaign. Donation forms can be found on the WMAA website. Payments can be made by check (made out to WMAA) or through PayPal. All contributions are welcome and greatly appreciated.
Yankee Candle/Cookie Dough Fundraisers (October/November)
Proven and popular fundraisers! Once again the WMAA is sponsoring Yankee Candle and Cookie Dough Fundraisers. Share the opportunity to finish holiday shopping early with all your friends and family. 50% of profits for each individual student will be placed in their student Charms account.
Holiday Greenery Sale (Early November)
The WMAA will be sponsoring a Holiday Greenery Sale again this year! Beautiful greenery is available for all your holiday decorating needs - fresh wreaths with mixed greens, fragrant roping, and colorful poinsettias! This fundraiser is an amazing way to raise those much needed funds for your fine arts activities. 90% of profits for each individual student will be placed in their student Charms account and 10% of profits will go into the scholarship account.
Woodgrove High School Fine Arts Gala
The Woodgrove High School Fine Arts department will host our Fine Arts Gala with a Silent Auction extravaganza in the spring of 2018. This event is a very important part of our effort to provide support for the music and arts programs at WHS. This evening will spotlight the entire Fine Arts Department, featuring art displays, drama productions, and music performances throughout the night. Delicious desserts and refreshments will be served as supporters browse the many outstanding silent and live auction items making this a night to remember! This is a magical night for our students! Please make plans to attend.
