Mrs. BallHi! My name is Mary Ball. I graduated from Radford University with a degree in Retail Marketing. I worked in the government contracting field at SAIC for 9 years as a Accounts Receivable Analyst. I stayed at home with my children for six years and I also worked for my church as a Nursery Director. I have been teaching for 10 years. I received my Master’s in Special Education from George Mason University with endorsements in LD/ED. I received my ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) endorsement from Lynchburg University. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a teacher’s assistant in a K-2 Autism room at Belmont Station Elementary. I was a cross-category Kindergarten teacher for the first year that I taught in Loudoun. I opened up Creighton’s Corner and taught there two years as a K-2 cross category teacher. I opened Buffalo Trail as an ECSE classroom teacher and taught there four years. I am currently an ECSE Resource teacher and I enjoy serving my students in the community in the South Riding area. I have had the benefit of teaching ECSE-A and ECSE summer school for six years. I have also taught students on Homebound for three years. I really enjoy reading and music activities with children. I am Pathways Reading trained and I enjoy teaching children the emergent skills needed to begin the reading process. I take pleasure in thematic teaching which incorporates reading, music, and art together with a core theme. I am also a certified ABA (Applied Behavior Analyst) which has given me the skills and knowledge to work with students that benefit from additional behavior modification plans.
