I am looking forward to an exciting year at Discovery Elementary School.  This will be my 9th year teaching EL students.  I will be working with Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students who will be participating in the hybrid platform for learing this year.

I have lived in the Northern Virginia area for most of my life.  I graduated from VA Tech with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in History.  In 2016, I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University.  Prior to teaching, I worked for various congressman on Capitol Hill, and for the Governors of both Virginia and South Carolina.  

My family and I have lived in Leesburg, Virginia for 21 years.  I have two daughters.  Megan is a Virginia Tech graduate and is currently teleworking from our home in Leesburg.  Sydney is a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate and working in Lucketts, VA.  In my spare time, I love to travel, cook, read, hike and kayak.  I am also a huge Washington Capitals fan!!!!

As an EL instructor I recognize the unique contributions my students can make towards our learning experiences.  Mutual respect, tolerance and high academic standards are the expectations in my groups and classrooms.  I look forward to a successful, productive, and fun year.
