This year, Little River will again be participating in a program called ColorCycle. Sponsored by Crayola, it aims to reduce the number of markers in landfills by recycling the markers into clean fuel. Used markers—even non-Crayola brand markers—will be collected throughout the school year and shipped by Crayola to a recycling plant in Pennsylvania. At this time, the ColorCycle program only accepts marker products.

During the 2019-2020 school year, we mailed 1,040 markers for recycling!!

    Acceptable markers include:

    ·         ANY Crayola or similar washable marker

    ·         Markers that are dried up/missing caps

    ·         Highlighters

    ·         Expo markers

    ·         Sharpie markers

Ms. Taggart is coordinating the ColorCycle program at Little River. Drop any old markers in the art room or in her box in the front office. Please contact her if you have any questions!
