Degrees and Certifications:

Kate Ramos

Hi families! My name is Kate Ramos and I am so excited to be teaching kindergarten at Arcola again this year! I received my Teaching Certificate and Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instructions from George Mason University. I taught first grade in Fairfax County for five years before taking a break to stay home with my children. When my youngest was in kindergarten, I started substitute teaching in Loudoun, spending most of my time in kindergarten classrooms. This will be my ninth year teaching kindergarten at Arcola. I am so motivated and ready to start another great year of learning. Kindergarten is so much fun!

I live in western Loudoun with my husband, three sons, one daughter and our dog, Blue. She is a mini Australian Shepherd and loves to chase after tennis balls. We have a lot of fun trying to teach her tricks! My evenings and weekends are spent driving all over Loudoun and Virginia to track and cross country events, basketball and softball practices and games. My oldest son just graduated from Virginia Tech with a computer engineering major and my second son is still going there, majoring in civil engineering. My youngest two are still in high school. On the weekends, I love to spend time with my family. I also enjoy reading, scrapbooking and cooking new recipes.

I look forward to meeting my new students in August! We will have a WONDERFUL year!
