    Formative Assessment all Theatre Arts classes

    4=Excellent 3=Good 2=Average 1= Needs Improvement

    Formative grades will be used only to assess student’s understanding and demonstration of the standards and will not count towards point values.
     
    Progression Scale for Theatre Assignments

    Points explanation

    4 – Exceeds the requirements of the assignment

                    The student demonstrates mastery of the assignment and concept of the lesson

                    The student completes the project with creativity, skill and precesion

    3 – Meets the requirements of the assignment

                    The student demonstrates a good understanding of the concept of the assignment

                    The student completes all parts of the assignment with accuracy and acceptable skill

    2 – Progressing

                    The student demonstrates a partial understanding of the concept of the assignment

                    Parts of the assignment are missing

                    The student completes the assignment with some success

    1 – Needs Improvement

                    The student demonstrates little or no understanding of the concept of the assignment

                    The student did not complete the assignment  

                    Craftsmanship lacking or weak

    Summative Grade Point Values

    Participation Average from the number of assignments per quarter (4 points per assignment):

    ·         10 - 15 performance/participation activities per quarter

    ·         15 - 20 notebook assignments (in class) per quarter

    Warm ups = 4 points per assignment
     
    Written Tests = 100 points
    Project Performance = 100points
