Mrs. Chirino

Mrs. Chirino is so thrilled to begin her ninth year teaching at Discovery Elementary. She began her career here at Discovery teaching 1st grade but has loved being a member of the 2nd grade team! She earned both her undergraduate and Master's degree from James Madison University. Mrs. Chirino has a dual licensure in both early childhood special education and pre-kindergarten to third grade. She grew up in Ashburn and is a graduate of Loudoun County Public Schools. She loves teaching in the very country where she gained her love of learning!

Mrs. Chirino enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching sports, especially football (GO PACK GO), watching movies, going to the beach, decorating and organizing and watching movies! She is also a huge fan of Disney! Just recently got married and has two dogs, Nellie, a German shepherd/husky mix, and Nala, a red golden retriever. Mrs. Chirino can't wait to get to know you as well!

Second grade is such an important year for young learners. Mrs. Chirino believes that a warm, welcoming and supportive classroom environment plants the seeds for a successful learning community. Our class will work together to ensure that each student feels that they have the tools to be successful with the help of an encouraging classroom family. All students have what it takes to find success in the classroom and it is Mrs. Chirino's goal to make sure that each student's potential is reached by providing students with an interactive and engaging learning experience.
