Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Todd Pangman

Welcome to 4th grade at Arcola!  My name is Todd Pangman.  I grew up in a small town in upstate New York.  I began my teaching career at Middleburgh Central School in New York State where I taught 4th grade for one year.  I taught fourth and fifth grade for 27 years in Fairfax County Public Schools. I return this fall to Arcola ES for my ninth year.  I began my college education at Cobleskill State, a junior college; and received my associate degree in business administration. I completed my bachelor degree at Oswego State, part of the SUNY system, in elementary education. I received a Masters degree in gifted and talented education from George Mason University.  I have worked with mentally challenged students, taught summer school remediation programs, worked private summer enrichment camps and tutored students ranging in grades two thru seven.  I enjoy challenging students, encouraging them and fostering creativity.  I try to create a safe and positive environment; an environment where all students can thrive.

My greatest challenge in every classroom each year is over coming student doubt and negative thoughts and reducing critisism that comes from peers.

I am married and have three sons. My oldest son lives and works in Denver, CO. My middle son lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. and my youngest son just graduated from JMU and is working in NOVA.

Grading Information:
When using Phoenix grade book - If you see a "0" grade, it means that the assignment was not complete. Students may complete and turn the assignment in for full credit. I then will replace the "0" grade in the grade book.
