Room 1: Ms. Tori Insley begins her third year at Frances Hazel Reid. Prior to joining the FHR team, she worked two years as a Kindergarten Assistant at Lowes Island Elementary School in Loudoun County. Before coming to LCPS, she taught 1st grade in Hampshire County, WV while living in Frostburg, MD. She received her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and her Master's of Education in Reading both from Frostburg State University. In her free time she loves crafting, reading, baking and traveling.
Kindergarten Assistant: Mrs. Lisa Carr is in her tenth year working as a Kindergarten Assistant at FHR. She is a graduate of Ohio University with a B.S. in Business Education. She also holds a Master's Degree in Technology Education from Fairfield University. Prior to working, she was active in the FHR PTA since her three children attended this school and are LCPS graduates (and all in college this year)! Mrs. Carr enjoys cooking, organizing anything and everything, and spending time with her family and their Weimaraner.
Room 2: Mrs. Lore Keen launches into her tenth year as a Kindergarten Teacher at FHR and her 23rd year teaching kindergarten! She earned a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida. She has taught fourteen years in Clay County, Florida. She currently lives in Winchester with her husband. Mrs. Keen enjoys being outside and exploring Virginia. She loves being part of the Frances Hazel Reid Family.
Kindergarten Assistant: Lauren Oliver enters upon her fourth year in Kindergarten. Before moving to Kindergarten, she was a Teacher Assistant for eight years in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Preschool. All three of her daughters attended Frances Hazel Reid and are either working or in college. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking, trying new recipes and working in the yard.
Room 3: Mrs. Deborah Owings is thrilled to be on the Kindergarten Team at FHR for her fourth year. The 2019-2020 school year was her 25th year of teaching in Loudoun County Public Schools and her 28th year overall. She has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education degree from James Madison University and has taught preschool, kindergarten, first grade and second grade. In addition she was a Technology Resource Teacher for LCPS. Mrs. Owings loves to teach and believes that children come first! Her hobbies include reading, yoga, travelling, and spending time with her family.
Kindergarten Assistant: Mrs. Oneida Garcia is excited to begin her fourth year as a Kindergarten Assistant at FHR. Prior to working at FHR, she was an assistant at a private preschool in Leesburg for 8 years. In addition, she had worked as a LCPS substitute teacher. Ms. Garcia is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College. Her hobbies include reading, travelling and spending time with her husband and daughter, who graduated from James Madison University and lives in New York City.
Kindergarten Assistant: Mrs. Teresa Whitehouse embarks on her sixth year as a Kindergarten Assistant at FHR. Prior to that she worked at Sycolin Creek Elementary as a Teacher Assistant in the Early Childhood Classroom. Before that, she was a Teacher Assistant and Substitute at FHR where her two sons attended. Her oldest son was in the first Kindergarten Class when FHR opened and now he attends college at JMU. Her youngest son is a sophomore at Virginia Tech. Mrs. Whitehouse graduated from Marymount College in New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
Room 7: Mrs. Lala Ridgeway is eager to return to the Frances Hazel Reid Kindergarten Team for her fifth year! She is originally from California, having earned a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and a Juris Doctor from University of San Diego. Prior to moving to Virginia, Mrs. Ridgeway was living in Texas, where she taught grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th, served as an Accelerated Math Instructor, and was honored as Elementary School Teacher of the Year for her district. Mrs. Ridgeway enjoys hiking, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Kindergarten Assistant: Adell Panetta is excited to begin her first year as a Kindergarten Assistant at FHR! She has taught preschool for the past 10 years and has also been a LCPS substitute teacher for many years. Adell has a BS in Business Administration and a VA Early Childhood Development Certificate. After living in several states as a Navy family, Adell and her husband raised their two children in Ashburn, and her kids attended LCPS K-12. Now that they are empty-nesters, Adell enjoys traveling, reading, yoga and a good cup of coffee!
