Mrs. Elisa Tucker

Ciao Trailblazers!  This year, I will be teaching students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades.  I help students with learning English and also provide extra support in reading and math when needed.  It is wonderful to be a part of the learning journeys of so many students!

This will be my 8th year at Discovery and 17th year as an elementary English Language (EL) teacher in Loudoun County.  Prior to joining the charter staff at Discovery, I taught at John W. Tolbert and Countryside elementary schools.  While at Countryside, I was honored to be chosen as a Teacher of the Year.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism (Public Relations) and French at Marshall University in Huntington, WV, I received a Master's degree in Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from George Mason University in May 2007.

I love to cook and bake, read books and magazines, make all sorts of crafts, take nature walks and write, travel and learn about other cultures, and most especially spend time with my husband David and our dog Ranger.  I also Rock the Red as a fan of the Washington Capitals hockey team.

I am available to answer questions or provide support in any way that I can.  Please contact me at school via email
