Mrs. Cole

Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Cole

My name is Elyssa Cole and  I am very excited for my fifth year as part of the Rolling Ridge family!  I will be staying in 1st grade for the 2018-2019 school year and can't wait to meet all of my new students :)

I was born in Lafayette, Indiana and have spent time in many places since my dad was in the Navy, inlcuding Alaska, Hawaii, and Connecticut.  I grew up in Dumfries, Virginia, not too far from Sterling.  Five years ago, my husband and I moved to Frederick, Maryland and that is where I currently call home.

Before coming to Rolling Ridge, I taught for three years in Prince William County in 4th grade.  I knew for a very long time that I wanted to be a teacher, working as a counselor at summer camps as well as a tutor and substitute for almost 10 years!

I received my undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech in Wildlife Science and my graduate degree at George Mason in Elementary Education, along with a professional endorsement in Library Sciences at Old Dominion.  I love learning and hope to pass that passion for knowledge on to my students each and every day. I also enjoy being outdoors, spending time with my husband, Dave, and cat, Harley, and watching Capitals hockey, Hokie football, or Cubs baseball.

I can't wait to see all that's in store for this coming school year and I know we're going to have a blast :)
