    WORKING IN THE GARDENS

    STUDENTS WORKING IN THE GARDENS

Students have an opportunity to work in the gardens periodically during their classes with either their teacher or a parent volunteer.

Additionally, at recess many students chose to maintain/weed the vegetable and butterfly gardens or rake leaves.  We keep gardening tools and gloves next to the balls so that students can enjoy taking care of their gardens.

    FAMILIES HELPING IN THE GARDENS

The Hamilton Elementary School PTA periodically hosts “Family Garden Day” on an as needed basis to allow students to share their knowledge with their family, and provide our teachers, staff and students with assistance for more labor intensive gardening needs or large projects.

There is generally a "School Yard Clean-Up" day in the Fall and in the Spring to help our small custodial staff weed and mulch the front flower beds.

On Family Garden Days we welcome beginners and garden lovers of all ages.  You should dress to get dirty and bring gardening gloves, water and your favorite garden tool(s).
